Why would they vote for Kerry?

The reason [molestors] give candy to their victims is so the victims say "If I didn't take the candy, this wouldn't have happened," That makes them feel responsible. They think it's their fault, but it's not.

The above quote is from a county prosecuting attorney trying to explain the hold that child molestors sometimes develop over their victims. They give them things, they develop control, the victims feel trapped and cannot walk away. Molestation victims sometimes even defend their molestors or kidnappers. It takes time for this "relationship" to be undone. Time away from the molestor. Time when the victim has no contact and no gifts from the molestor.

The victims I now write about are the Kerry voters. They have become so accustomed to government handouts - direct transfer payments, government benefits, government jobs, government contracts, government protection - that they cannot break with their molestors. No matter how much Kerry lies or how dangerous he would be for the country, the "victims" - Kerry voters - are trapped. There is no use talking to most of them.

By a long lure of planned grass a society of bisons may be decoyed to captivity in the Valley of Security. In moments of uneasiness its bulls may be soothed by the voices of the herders saying: "you are free at any time to go back to the plains. Remember the grass there? It was poor and many of you were hungry." There is no going back, because, first, these gentle herders are rough with the few who try to start a stampede, and secondly, tame grass is sweet poison. From the eating of it the way of life on the plains is soon forgotten. To many whose stomachs were never so full before, even the memory of it is harrowing. If one asks, "But will the herders always be good to us.?" another answers, "Nature was sometimes cruel."

Garet Garrett, The People's Pottage, 1954 edition. p. 114.

Remember this as the campaign wraps up. You cannot convert the molested while they are still on the dole - while they are still in the clutches of the molestor. All we can do is shout down the herders as they try to prevent us from liberating the herd. We can rally our base. We can make sure that every one of our voters knows how fatal it might be to stay home on November 2.

I mention this now only so that we might endure our opponents' instransigence with the pity it deserves.

The Final 2 and 1/2 days - The Final Two Objectives

With time dwindling away, our focus should narrow to the most important (2) objectives:

1) Reminding the voters that Osama bin Laden wants Kerry to win and that the MSM will do their utmost to help him influence the result; and

2) Making sure, through rigorous enforcement of the voter photo ID rules, that individuals don't vote more than once on election day.

Click here to find out how to accomplish #1.

Check here, here, here, here, here, here and here for reasons WHY goal number 2 is necessary, including the fact that the MSM tacitly encourages multiple voting.

Check here to learn HOW to accomplish # 2.

Remember, the phony registrations are the storm clouds that threaten to break on election day, drowning out the election process as thousands of people try to vote multiple times to take advantage of bloated voter rolls. This is especially true in counties where there are more registrations than actual people.

Insistence on proper ID is the only way for us to fight. Insist that the election officials at the polling places enforce the rules. Stay inside the polls all day. Volunteer. If local officials bend the rules, call the Republican headquarters, the news media, the D.A., the sheriff, etc. It won't be pretty, but it may be our only hope.

----------------
Sunday update.

Michelle Malkin has posted a good summary of the various armies that may descend on the polling places on Tuesday. If you can be a poll watcher, do it. Don't let crowds or cameras intimidate you. Make sure that the rules are enforced. Otherwise, Democrat lawyers, UN "observers" and Michael Moore camera crews will overwhelm the polling centers and stuff the ballots with illegal alien votes.

Would you trust this man to lead us in war???

I don't remember the website on which I saw these quotes. Sorry for not attributing.

" Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition . . to the early use of force by the U.S. against Iraq . . . I share your concerns.
On January 11th, I voted in favor of a resolution that would have insisted that economic sanctions be given more time to work and against
a resolution giving the President the immediate authority to go to war."

Letter written by John Kerry to Wallace Carter of Newton Centre, Mass on January 22, 1991

"Thank you very much for contacting me to express your support for the actions of President Bush in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
From the outset of the invasion, I have strongly and unequivocally supported President Bush's response to the crisis and the policy goals he has
established with our deployment in the Persian Gulf."

Letter written by John Kerry to Wallace Carter of Newton Centre, Mass on January 31, 1991

Terrorists Support Kerry

There is no way to say it diplomatically.

Hat tip to Michele:
I just realized that’s the 3rd Islamist endorsement Kerry has received in the last 7 days. It seems that Kerry's sister Beth, was busier than I originally thought in getting ex-patriots and others overseas to campaign or vote for Kerry.

Abu Jalal would have done better as Kerry's running mate than Edwards.

Also, see Shot in the Dark .

Don't forget Adam Gadahn, with his threats to make the streets run with blood if we dare vote for Bush/Cheney.

These endorsements follow Arafat's endorsement of Kerry.

And remember Kim Il Sung, Castro and Mahathir Mohamad.

Putin agrees that terrorists prefer anybody but Bush.

The terrorists know who they can trust.

--------------------------
Sunday update.

The New York Post and Powerline provide the evidence. The edited portions of the Osama tape show Osama lamenting the Afghanistan elections and the military pressure that Bush has brought to bear upon Al Qaeda. What did you want to tell us about Tora Bora, Mr. Kerry?

The Second half of the October Surprise

The Dems launched round 2 of the October Surprise on Friday night.

Captain's Quarters summarizes the Democrats' attempts to capitalize on Osama Bin Laden's taped statement. Also check out Truth Laid Bear - The Batman Effect.

Just as Monday's October Surprise blew up in the Democrats' face, they now view Osama Bin Laden as riding to their rescue. Commentators will be on TV all weekend second guessing the administration and reinterpreting the entire war and the post 9-11 period.

Our strategy is simple. Identify the Democrats' game. The Democrats need Osama Bin Laden alive and well. We must point out that the Democrats and their media allies are depending on a resurgent Bin Laden to rescue their campaign.

The choice is clear. Choose the man who has crushed the Taliban, killed and captured Bin Laden's associates and relegated him to a life on the run where he could make only one video in three years.

Or - choose the man who would use Bin Laden as an unwitting ally to undermine our foreign policy, our war effort and our nation. The castle is under seige while the Dems set fire to our defenses. In the end, they hope to rule the ashes.

------------------

Saturday morning update.

Powerline says it best.
Osama needs us to vote for Kerry. It is just a shame that Kerry has taken the bait.

Keep your response simple and limited to short blurbs like Powerline. The remaining news cycles are too short for anything else to work.

Michele from New York expresses it well also when she describes her pro-Bush vote as her "rude gesture" toward Osama.

Jawa also does a good job.

Ted Koppel (!) said it well last night when he implored Americans not to let Osama "mess with our heads." Our message must be that a vote for Kerry based on Kerry's Osama-response would be doing JUST THAT. To abandon George Bush just because Osama is still alive (especially after Bush predicted a long war in September, 2001) would be letting Osama mess with our heads.

---------- Mid-morning Saturday update ------------

There are too many blogs that "get it" for me to cover them all.

Right on Red nails it in TWO PARAGRAPHS:
In other words, I would not sleep well tonight if bin Laden had called Kerry a flip-flopper who lies about Cambodia and wants to pass a global test.

I don’t know if Michael Moore fans pause when they hear their own propaganda repeated approvingly by a genocidal maniac.

Yeah . . . What HE said.

Election day - foot soldiers needed.

For those of you monitoring election locations on Tuesday, the following rules are in force in Pennsylvania. Similar rules apply elsewhere. Consult your local law. (Talk to the local Republican headquarters or an election lawyer if you are not sure).

Watchers can:

* Inspect all voting machines and counters before polls open
* Inspect the list of absentee ballots received when polls open
* Clearly hear the name of each person entering the poll to vote
* Inspect the book signed by the voter at will
* Remain with the election board throughout the process of counting votes after 8 p.m. on November 2

In addition, every person voting for the first time in the precinct must display proper identification. This is not an option, but a requirement of the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002. If a voter is unable or unwilling to show proper identification, they must cast a provisional ballot. Please note: Provisional ballots are NEVER opened at the polling place.

Regarding absentee ballots ... they may not under any circumstances be opened until polls close at 8 p.m.

Anyone in line to vote at 8 p.m. must be permitted to vote, but no one arriving after that time can. At 8 p.m., the judge of elections should go to the back of the line to signify the end of voting.

Finally, electioneering may not take place within 10 fet of the entrance to the polling place. Conversely, any attempt to interfere with electioneering more than 10 feet from the door closest to the polling place is a violation of law.

Any volunteer can act as a poll watcher, provided you have a "watcher certificate" or other document distributed by your local party.

Volunteers are needed to deal with the Democrat fraud that we expect. Fight the fraud every step of the way. Don't let the election judges at your precinct get away with bending the rules. This is where the battle will be won or lost. All of our speeches, e-mails, blogging and Rathergate exposing will mean nothing if thousands of Democrats can vote multiple times in the swing states.
Volunteer now! Call the local Republican party and ask where they need you on election day. [If you can't find the local Republican party, call the office of a local Republican elected official - e.g. the county commissioner's office or a borough councilman.]

Get in the trenches on election day!

How we can win - a pessimist's view

The blogosphere and entire internet have really come to life this week. Maybe it is just my computer, but I find my favorite pages slow to load and often out of commission due to heavy traffic. The blogosphere has pre-empted the first installment of the Dems' October Surprise and shouted down the Dems' BS.

Provided that Al Qaeda does not destroy the country, we may have cause for celebration soon.

The biggest identifiable obstacle we face is massive voter fraud on election day. Four Ohio counties have more registered voters than actual people. The same is true in Philadelphia. Major registration fraud is under investigation in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida and elsewhere by local officials.

Registration offices around the country complain of new registrations that threaten to overwhelm those offices with their volume. The new registrations render the polling data almost meaningless.

It won't matter that we have "beat" the old media if the Democrats steal the election through fraud. After we finish preempting the Dems' October Surprise, we must fight the fraud.

I suggest that the Republicans be prepared to file their own lawsuits and initiate criminal prosecutions on election day and beyond. We may find ourselves behind in the "official" votes tallies because of all of the Democrat fake votes. If that is the case, we must be prepared to win in court. Don't spend the next 5 days hoping it will be over soon. It will not be over until Kerry concedes.

Enough crimes have been committed that a coordinated litigation and prosecution effort might reveal the extent to which the Democratic fraud efforts have been coordinated. If only a few of the perpretators "squeal", it might bring down part of the Democratic party leadership in addition to rectifying the election. We must lay the groundwork for this prosecution and litigation not merely by pointing out the fraud, but by also repeatedly advocating prosecution and litigation over the next five days. Prepare the public for the only weapon we might have at our disposal when Kerry begins to announce his cabinet nominees.

What did Terry McAuliffe know and when did he know it?

Nixon was brought down over lesser crimes than those we have seen this year.

The Iraqi-Syria-Russia connection and the October Surprise

This news item will circulate throughout the blogosphere on Thursday. I do not plan to discuss the details. Others will analyze the details tonight and tomorrow.

Our immediate objective is to plan our attack. The Kerry/Edwards/Abu Jalal ticket is planning to use this story to attack Bush, as incredible as that may seem. Nothing is beyond their shamelessness. They will blame Bush because he didn't get Russia into our coalition in the first place. Kerry, with his global test, would have had made sure that we had the full support of the Russians.

We have to make the point early and often that this story:

1) Demolishes the Democrats' October Surprise even more than before.

2) Demonstrates Russia's complicity with Iraq (so much for the global test and relying on allies to protect us and carry the burden).

3) Shows Kerry's poor judgment and desparation for shooting his mouth off before he knew the facts.

4) Shows that if we pull out too soon, all of these weapons will come back into Iraq.

This story will have to carry us through the week. We can use it to drown out the rest of the Democrats' October Surprise, whatever it might be. We won't win anything unless we push this story to the max.

---------------- Thursday mid-day update

Truth Laid Bear has a good, detailed, update. But remember, keep it simple. The simple truth is the best defense against the Dems' October Surprise.

More Pennsylvania voter fraud - senior citizen identity theft

The Delco Times is reporting that roughly 60 Delaware County, PA registration applications have recently been identified by the D.A. as forged.

These applications contained forged signatures of nursing home residents. Not content merely to forge their signatures, the perpretators have entered nursing homes without authorization in order to obtain information:

"It has come to my attention that some voter-advocacy groups have attempted to enter nursing homes without the approval of the nursing home administration and without following the established secure entry guidelines," said District Attorney Green.

He lashed out at members of the groups that request personal identifying information, such as Social Security numbers from seniors. He said such information could lend itself to identity theft and other forms of economic crimes. "Although voters who are voting in their precincts for the first time will be required to show identifications, seniors and residents of nursing homes should know that no official from the county of Delaware or from any election board will be taking away their identifications. Identifications should not leave their possession and no third party should ask to take your identification on the basis that that person will be helping you to vote."

Welcome to the brave new world. As you or your parents try to lead a comfortable life in a nursing home, predators try to steal their identity for the purpose of electing John Kerry.

Is it any wonder that new registrations have run 2 to 1 Democrat in Delaware County?

------------------------

The Director of Elections in Berks County, PA charged election fraud earlier this month. The Director pointed out numerous voter registration drives that relied on false information. The Director believes there is an attempt not merely to sway the election to one side, but to undermine the entire process by flooding the registration office with fraudulent information.

ACORN is at the center of the controversy. Check out Digital Brown Pajamas for a summary of ACORN activity around the country on behalf of Democrats.

Wisconsin voter fraud - illegal aliens

Powerline reports the story of two individuals who went to Racine, Wisconsin, approached the Deputy Registrar of Voters, claimed to be illegal aliens, and were registered anyway.

The Deputy Registrar of Voters in Racine Wisconsin is an illegal alien herself.

We may go from having foreign money decide our election in 1996 to actual foreign votes deciding our election this year. Welcome to "The Global Test."

ABC News holding back terror warning

Drudge has cleared his page of all other headlines and issued a flashing light alert.

ABC News has apparently been holding on to a video that warns of terror attacks in the U.S. The speaker is believed to be Adam Pearlman, the subject of a May FBI warning.

This story is breaking all over the media as I write. Michelle Malkin posts a good summary of the history of the terrorist who speaks in the video. The speaker warns that "the streets will run with blood." Remind your readers and friends that the speaker supports Kerry for President.

The Global Test

I am sure you have seen this by now, but there is nothing wrong with overkill.

Terrorists support Kerry. They are hoping to ratchet up the killing this week to help Kerry in next week's election. They have expressed their desire that as a result of the killing of American soldiers, ". . . Kerry would emerge as the superman of the American people."

Ever the opportunist, Kerry will no doubt try to capitalize on each of the killings.

The terrorists are half right. Kerry is the superman of nearly half of the voters.

This item presents us with a simple story. Kerry is the candidate of the terrorists. Never before in American history has an enemy of this country identified his preference so bluntly. We must identify every killing in Iraq this week as a pro-Kerry action.

I will post thoughts later this week on the question of why any American would cast his vote for the terrorists' candidate.

Pennsylvania governor suppresses the military vote

There will be a rally this afternoon at the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia in support of the right of our troops overseas to vote in this year's election.

Thousands of Pennsylvania National Guardsmen are in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan. It will take time for absentee ballots to reach those troops and get back to PA. Numerous PA counties could not send out absentee ballots until this week because of the Democrat lawsuits to keep Ralph Nader off of the ballot.

Governor Rendell refuses to extend the deadline for the receipt of these ballots because he knows that the Guardsmen support Bush. He has taken this position despite having taken the opposite position in the primaries earlier this year.
Rendell is trying to suppress the military vote despite taking extra steps to insure the rights of prisoners to vote.

Ohio voter fraud update

I don't have a link for this, but Glenn Beck reported this morning that 4 Ohio counties have more people registered than are actually eligible to vote in those counties. This problem is similar to Philadelphia's 104% registration total.

Also check out Digital Brown Pajamas and this link for earlier warnings on Ohio.

UPDATE - early afternoon Wednesday

M. Simon has a more detailed version of the 4 Ohio county story.

October Surprise - the continuing saga

For those who haven't seen it, NBC News has discredited the NY Times/Democratic Party October Surprise.

Don't celebrate yet.

1) The Kerry campaign continues to use the story as gospel truth.

2) There is more "October Surprise" to come.

Remind your e-mail lists and readers that the first story was discredited. Circulate the Drudge link. Tell everyone to expect more lies. We won't have time to discredit the next story - as it might come out on Thursday or Friday. It will take several days to fully circulate the truth about yesterday's story.

UPDATE - midday Tuesday

CBS' plan was to unleash the now discredited weapons cache' story on Sunday night - October 31st. So, why didn't they wait? Why did the MSM show its hand? There are three possibilities:

1) MSM had to blunt the Kerry - UN Security Council story that was set to break Monday morning (10/25) after a weekend of blogosphere buzz. In other words, Powerline and Washington Times forced the MSM's hand.

2) There is more of the October Surprise BS to come.

3) Intra-MSM competition forced the MSM's hand, as they could not risk losing ground to each other in the competition over the dwindling MSM audience.

The answer is yes. All three of these factors played into the early release of the NY Times' hit piece.

We can discuss number 3 at length after the election.

Based on Number (2), we are still in danger. Number (1) points to the solution. Force their hand. Explore this story as thoroughly as we explored Rathergate in September. Beat it to death over the next three days. And then go back and beat it some more. By the time the MSM launches the rest of its October Surprise, maybe the voters will have been jaded to the MSM tricks and sleaze.

Remember, it won't be a surprise if we can preempt it.

********MID AFTERNOON UPDATE MID AFTERNOON UPDATE *************

The Kerry campaign doesn't get it yet.

Make sure the voters do. The blogosphere has been pounding at this all day. Keep pounding. Tell your friends, e-mail everyone you know. Preempt the commercial.

The October Surprise?

Was this it? Was the New York Times' rehash of the missing explosives story the Dems' "October Surprise?" It seems that they could do better than a story about 300 tons of missing explosives when the U.S. has found and destroyed 2 million tons in the past year and a half in many hidden locations.

The answer is yes. This story IS part of the Dems' October surprise and they CAN and WILL do better. If the MSM is going to rehash every old story like it is "news", they can come up with plenty of material from the last year and a half in Iraq. They will do plenty of that in the next week. And they will be supported by plenty of fresh bombings by the terrorists in Iraq. The terrorists and the MSM will supply the news - Kerry will supply the B.S. Our soldiers will be cannon fodder for the Dems' spin machine.

We have been talking about an October surprise for months. This is an old tactic that will wear thin if we expose it for what it is. Remember Caspar Weinberger in 1992. Remind your readers, friends and neighbors of the October surprise strategy. It is not a surprise if they expect it. Get them to expect more of it this week.

The Final Week

As we head into the final full week of the campaign, news stories develop quickly. I find it impossible to keep up with every development. Regardless of what happens we should focus on three events during the next nine days. If we talk about these items and warn about them well in advance of their happening, they will be less likely to harm us.

1) Voter fraud, cheating, intimidation. Virtually the entire blogosphere is buzzing about the Dems' illegal activities across the country. We have to keep the pressure on and remind everyone that DNC cheating will influence the outcome. That way, we are less likely to be viewed as sore losers if we have to file suit to overturn fraudulent results. We are less likely to be viewed as usurpers if the courts prevent the Dems from cheating or if fraudulent Dem votes are discounted. Local officials need backbone in order to resist cheating. Our efforts to spread the news will give them backbone. If officials know that fraud will see the light of day, they may be braver in stopping it.

Look for Ohio to be this year's Florida. Most of the illegal registration/ provisional ballot/misleading ballot controversy has centered in that state. That is where the crack story surfaced. At least one Bush headquarters break-in happened there. Also look at Wisconsin, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Florida and elsewhere.

2) Terrorist attacks. It is almost impossible to predict when or where terrorist attacks will come. Bush has become almost a victim of his own success. We have gone so long without a major attack, it is hard to imagine another one coming. It is hard not to greet the warnings with a yawn.

If an attack comes, we must be prepared to respond. We must mentally prepare our blog response now.

We have been warning about terrorist attacks for months, while the Dems have been accusing Bush of inventing heightened terror alerts for political gain. We must remind the voters that the Democrats have downplayed the possibility of an attack for months. We must also remind the voters that we can't let the terrorists force us to change leaders like they did in Spain.

One scenario is more than a mere possibility, it is nearly certain to occur. The terrorists will step up their attacks in Iraq this week. We should prepare for simultaneous, massive car bombs, suicide bombs and other similar attacks throughout Iraq. We must prepare for many U.S. casualties, and massive Iraqi military losses. We should warn of this now, so that we will not be viewed as having presented too rosy a picture. The Dems will accuse us of having been asleep, overly optimistic, etc. Only if we come out with warnings, will we diffuse this attack.

3) The Dems' October surprise. The Dems may not need one - at least not apart from their cheating and the terrorists attacks. The cheating may BE the October surprise. Or, the Democrats might simply plan to capitalize on whatever attacks the terrorists employ.

Even so, remember the last minute DUI story of 2000, or the Caspar Weinberger indictment of 1992. Whatever comes out this Thursday or Friday, it will be false, irrelevant, old or a combination of all three. The Dan Rather memos would have been the October surprise had the SwiftBoatVets not forced the Dems'/CBS' hand.

Prepare the blogosphere for the possibility of an October surprise so that whatever surprise the Dems have in store will be blunted. If it is not a surprise, it will lose effectiveness.
----------------------------------------------------------
All of the above three items will hurt us only if we and the swing voters are surprised. Our role is to prepare them for whatever news may come. That is why we are the New Media.

Regardless of the outcome, prepare to continue the fight after November 2, 2004. More on that later this week.

Ohio may be this year's Florida

I was hoping to stop posting for the evening and eat my dinner, but the vote fraud just will not stop. Check out Powerline's link to the Cleveland ballot chicanery.

Terrorist attack potential - U.S. Schools - update.

As we head into the last week of the campaign, I will post what I hope will be my last comment on the 25 Chechen rebels that may have crossed illegally into the U.S. through Mexico recently.

As you will recall, plans for schools in 6 U.S. districts were recently found on an Iraqi computer disk. This news became more alarming when it was learned that Chechen terrorists like the ones that initiated the Beslan massacre may have crossed illegally into the U.S.

A September column from Mark Steyn notes an equally disturbing item that indicates that the planning for such an attack may have been in the works for some time:

Could what happened in Beslan happen in the US? Two months ago, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported on a fellow called Mohamad Kamal Elzahabi, a suspected terrorist who'd fought with his fellow jihadi in Chechnya and somehow wound up in Minnesota, where he'd applied for licences to transport hazardous materials and drive school buses.

The column is from September 7, 2004 - (don't be fooled by the UK date system) - I have kept it in my file of "things to post." Nine days prior to election day seems like a good time for me to issue another warning about this disaster in the making.

Could something like this be part of the "October surprise" we all fear? More on that later.

Colorado electoral vote referendum

Support for a Colorado referendum that would divide up Colorado's electoral votes and eviscerate Colorado's national influence is falling. This is good news. See my previous post on this point.

In an unrelated article, The Las Vegas Review Journal hints at the reasons for maintaining the electoral system:

Two to 4 percent of the populace will indeed decide this election, which looks close as to the popular vote. But frankly, I doubt the Electoral College vote will look that close -- precisely because the Electoral College was designed to protect small rural states from having our national elections decided in a few corrupt urban cesspools.

The article is a worthwhile read, even if we don't agree with everything it says.

Even if the Colorado referendum fails, the electoral college still is not safe from leftist attack. It merits our defense in the coming years. And maybe even in the coming days. I can recall in November 2000 that the Dems were trying to find a Bush elector that could be bribed or blackmailed into changing his vote. When the electoral race ended up being very close, Larry Flynt swung into action. The same thing might happen this time.

Stolen Honor

Angela at Yoshi's Blog Spot has posted a link to the "Stolen Honor" video.

You can download the entire 42 minute video and watch it free.

You can click here also:

http://www.buttondepress.com/BostonManifesto/stolenhonor.wmv

or here.

If the site is down by the time you get to it, Angela can e-mail a copy to you.

Send this message to everyone you know. Go to every blog you have time to visit and post a comment with this PERMALINK or a PERMALINK to the Yoshi post or a link to the video itself.

John Kerry is trying to stop this movie from being shown. He can't stop us from spreading it via the internet.

Too many for me to keep track of.

In Columbus Ohio, officials are reviewing hundreds of cases of election fraud. Officials are reviewing "stacks of voter registration applications."

One example from the above link is the case of the illegal alien Somali terrorist who is now registered to vote in Ohio.

And you might recognize the name of Nuradin Abdi. He’s a native of Somalia charged with plotting to blow up a Columbus mall.

"As far as board of elections is concerned, Abdi is a registered voter," board of elections director Matt Damschroeder said.

Digital Brown Pajamas asks, "did the board of elections send him the registration before or after they busted him as a terrorist."

What we don't need to ask is, "Who is Nuradin Abdi voting for?" The answer is obvious. The real question is, why do nearly half of the voters agree with him? More on that later.

The violence and fraud continue

1) Ann Coulter assaulted with pies. The pies mostly missed their mark and Ann made fun of the assailants. The assailants are now in jail. This is the real face of the DNC, liberals, mainstream media, etc. At least it's good to know that they throw like Kerry.

2) Bush-Cheney headquarters robbed in Cincinatti.

3) In Florida, mobs of thugs are intimidating and trying to chase away Republican voters.

DNC vote fraud summary.

There is an excellent summary of Democrat voting fraud posted at Digital Brown Pajamas.

We must spread the word about this to everyone we know. That way, if the RNC has to file lawsuits in November, we won't look like crybabies and we will have laid the groundwork. E-mail the above link to your friends.

Ohio voter fraud - part II

It appears that maybe there aren't as many legitimate new registrations as the DNC would have us believe. The Cincinatti Enquirer reports that "thousands" of new registration cards have been returned by the post office because the addresses are invalid.
These cards have been returned throughout the state.

The registration cards are obviously phony, as a legitimate applicant's address would not have changed in such a short time.

I would expect that individuals will show up at the polls seeking to vote on election day using the names of those whose cards have been returned. These people will have already voted under their real names elsewhere. They will claim to have forgotten their card or ID. They may demand "provisional" ballots. They will claim "intimidation" if election officials don't let them vote. Democratic election officials will let them vote even though they do not qualify.

This election will be a MESS. Ohio is shaping up as this year's Florida.

Voter fraud in Philadelphia

Harrisburg Online includes an alarming fact in its latest edition:

". . . intriguingly, there are now 1,066,222 persons registered to vote in Philadelphia - 40-thousand more than the U. S. Census Bureau estimates are of voting age and living in the City...hmmmmmm..."

If these registrations are legitimate, 104% of eligible voters have registered to vote. Usually, somewhere around half of eligible voters actually register. For registrations to approach 100% is unheard of. For registrations to exceed 100%, some serious crack must be changing hands in Philly this month.

[updated on 10/21/04 with new permalink for Harrisburg Online.]

The latest attack on Bush - the futures market

The Commissar has linked to an article in NRO that identifies a futures trading scheme whereby a single speculator is causing temporary market crashes for the sake of damaging W's reelection chances. Go to the above links for a more complete discussion.

If futures are covered by the New Deal era securities laws, then this scheme is illegal. It is illegal to try to create panic-selling by means of rapid sales of one's own holdings.

Whether or not this activity is really illegal, numerous thoughts come to mind.

(1) If someone did this to Clinton, he wouldn't worry about the legal niceties and the technicality of whether or not futures are covered by the Securities Act of 1933. He would order his regulators to investigate and prosecute.

(2) The New Deal securities laws are worthless. After each of the recent futures market "attacks" The market has recovered to its previous levels within minutes. The attacker has lost tremendous amounts of money, while those with confidence in Bush are making some quick gains. Panic selling doesn't work.

(3) The fact that someone with wealth and sophistication is willing to lose money and risk prosecution for the sake of hurting Bush should tell us something of the nature of the opposition. We are facing more than simply election year politics. We are facing nothing less than a coordinated attack on all of our institutions. The financial markets, the election process, the courts, the free press, etc. If the Democrats win this year, it will be nothing less than a coup d'etat. If the Democrats win, our election process will never be the same again.

Iraq WMD's in Syria?

You won't hear this one on ABC World News Tonight.

CIA advisor Charles Duelfer told the Senate Armed Services Committee earlier this month that "a lot of materials left Iraq and went to Syria" before the war. While the WorldTribune has no trouble reporting this testimony in today's edition, ABCCBSNBC has their own story and they are sticking to it.

Ohio vote/crack exchange program

An Ohio democrat campaign worker has been paid in crack for somehow obtaining new voter registrations.

While you will no doubt see this report elsewhere, it is important to note that the man was paid by a Toledo, Ohio political operative. Toledo was the sight of one of the infamous break-ins/burglaries at Republican headquarters in recent weeks. The criminals/democrats are working overtime in Toledo. (I could not find the earlier Toledo link. There have been so many incidents, I have lost track.)

Didn't President Nixon have to resign in disgrace over a "third rate burglary?"

Chinese Troops in Haiti ??????????

Isn't anyone else bothered by this story of Chinese troops being deployed to Haiti?

I know we are in a war and we have an election underway, but COME ON! Chinese troops are in the western hemisphere! ChinaDaily's reference to the troops as "the first Chinese troops to be deployed to the Western Hemisphere . . . " is especially frightening. Are there more on the way??

This story was linked on Drudge over the weekend, but I haven't seen anyone else pick up on it.

I hope we are kept informed when the Chinese are on their way to monitor the 2008 U.S. elections.

Voting fraud in Florida

Drudge carries a report that the DNC has instructed its volunteers to pick up and personally deliver absentee ballots from voters to the supervisor of elections. Such practice is illegal. The practice invites the DNC operatives to create or invent ballots, forge ballots, alter ballots, etc.

Meanwhile, The Pickle has provided a good summary of the fraud and intimidation that has taken place thus far.

The RNC has threatened to file suit over the latest Florida controversy. I think one possible scenario is that Democrats will emerge on election eve with the most votes (electoral and popular) and it will be up to Republicans to file numerous suits to reverse the fraudulent results.

That is why we should not refer to the Democrats as "whiners." They are not whining, they are attempting to suppress legitimate votes, create fraudulent votes, and generally undermine the Democratic process. If we can stop them in court, we should. We should also be prepared to be accused of whining, if necessary.

We should be prepared for the election process to continue through December. Don't get disheartened by the returns on November 2 - whatever they might be.

Flu vaccine violence update

I hesitated to use the headline in the previous post regarding flu vaccine violence. I was afraid to come across as dramatic or to exaggerate a few isolated incidents.

In fact, the trend is growing and the effects of the de facto government price controls are being felt nationwide.

Virginians are camping out overnight to receive the vaccine.

Officials in Michigan, Massachusetts, New Mexico, and D.C. have ordered prosecution of any health care provide that vaccinates a non - "low risk" person.

This news follows earlier reports in the Washington Times and elsewhere of vaccines being stolen and possibly sold on the black market.

All the while, government officials insist that this is "not rationing".

With all due respect, YES IT IS. The government's desire to hand out cheap vaccines at below market rates has caused this crisis. Michelle Malkin warns that this crisis could cause more deaths nationwide than 9/11.

DNC preemption

The Republicans and conservatives have done a good job in publicizing the Democrats' plans to make false charges of "intimidation." But I think they are underestimating the seriousness of the situation.

In a very short time, headlines across the county will contain stories repeating the DNC's charges of intimidation on a local level. This will occur in MANY different localities.

At the same time, the Kerry/Edwards campaign is planning lawsuits in 10 to 15 states. The legal teams are already in place. Imagine ten lawsuits coupled with cries of voter fraud and intimidation all over the country. Imagine seeing this while knowing that the Democrats are the real source of actual voter fraud in many places, including Ohio, Wisconsin, Colorado, Nevada, Florida, Pennsylvania, etc. November and December will constitute a shoutfest between both sides as to who the real cheaters are. Facts will be lost in the avalanche. The average voter will not know the difference between good and evil.

Some of the conservatives are referring to the Democrats as whiners, and accusing the Democrats of preemptive whining. This accusation trivializes the DNC strategy. The DNC is not simply whining. They are trying to achieve something more far-reaching and devastating to the electoral process. This type of battle will destroy the average American's incentive to take an interest in politics. The average American will become disenfranchised.

Our only option is to publicize this strategy often in as stark terms as possible.

We should say that Democrats are already planning this year's Florida battle. Slogan's like, "The 2000 Florida chad battle, coming to a town near you," will brace the voters for the coming fight.

The DNC tactics are the type that can be ruined if they are exposed beforehand. If the voters are expecting charges of fraud and intimidation, those charges will seem stale by November 3rd.

Flu vaccine violence

WHYL radio in Carlisle, PA has reported a theft of flu vaccines from a medical center in the Harrisburg, PA area. This follows earlier reports of flu vaccine theft in recent days.

Meanwhile, CBS radio reported government threats this morning to crack down on "profiteers" who try to make money on the vaccine by selling shots to unauthorized persons. The media sees no connection between the "profiteering" crackdown and the thefts and black markets.

Today, we are fighting over a dwindling supply of a price controlled flu vaccine. Tomorrow, we will be fighting over dwindling supplies of much more basic medical products.

Welcome to socialized medicine.

Voter fraud in Nevada

A Nevada CBS affiliate is reporting that a company called Voter Outreach of America a/k/a America Votes has destroyed thousands of voter registration forms in an attempt to tamper with the election.

America Votes is a 527 organization affiliated with Democrats and Democratic organizations such as Nancy Pelosi, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, AFL-CIO, etc.

Naturally, the Democrats have tried to turn the tables with allegations that this organization is funded by the RNC. The Democrats continue their false charges of "intimidation" while committing outright election fraud.

The Kerry/Edwards election directive exposed today by Drudge is being played out in front of our eyes.

Here is the text of the article by Gary Drumm of Lifenet Communications.

Lookout! CBS Has Done It Again
Gary L. Drumm Jr.
gdrumm@yahoo.com

A Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS, reported on October
12th that voter registrations of Democrats were being
trashed by a private voter registration company called
"America Votes" or "Voters Outreach of America". The
story goes on to say that this organization only
wanted Republican registrations and was actually
tearing up and trashing Democratic registrations.

The story even goes on to say, at the end, that
America Votes "has been largly, if not entirely,
funded by the Republican National Committee". In
addition, the story also states that the organization
was recently evicted for non-payment of rent and moved
out of Nevada and on to Oregon.

Now, there are a couple of problems with this story
that I think should be pointed out. First of all,
America Votes is a 527 that was formed in July 2003 by
Cecile Richards, the daughter of former Texas
Democratic Governor Ann Richards, who was defeated by
George W Bush in Texas. A simple search on
opensecrets.org
(http://www.opensecrets.org/527s/527events.asp?orgid=12)
indicates that America Votes "Coordinates the
activities of more than 20 Democratic interest groups
trying to defeat President Bush in November."

So, why would an organization who's stated purpose is
to defeat President Bush be "largly, if not entirely,
funded by the Republican National Committee."?
Opensecrets clearly indicates that it is NOT and that
affiliated organizations contributed $50,000 each to
the group. One of the affiliates includes ACORN -
another Democratic organization that has also had
allegations of voter fraud in Colorado, where they
were paying people $2 per registration, which has
apparently lead to at least 719 cases of fraudulent
registrations.

Other affiliates of America Votes include: Planned
Parenhood Action Fund, NARAL, AFL-CIO, NAACP, America
Coming Together, and the now infamous MoveOn.Org. So
what does this mean to the rest of us? Simple. There
is a well organized Democratic machine in place to try
to steal this election in November. They want to win
by whatever means necessary, even fraud. If you think
that these organizations are going to play fairly, you
are sadly mistaken!

Judge: Voters Can Cast Ballots At Wrong Polling Place

Election fraud has spread to Ohio. The headline for this post says it all. But I will add a few things anyway.
"Democrats feared that more of their supporters would be turned away at the polls if they show up at the wrong voting place."

The above quote from the article shows that Democrats, instead of Republicans, will benefit from the new policy of allowing voting at the wrong polling place.

In fact Democrats will vote twice (or more often) while complaining of "intimidation".

Welcome to socialized medicine

Hat tip to Michelle Malkin for writing about the governmental attempts to hold down artificially the price of flu shots, with the result that flu shots are harder to obtain and drug companies are abandoning any attempt to supply vaccines.

We now see another side effect of this governmental interference. The Washington Times reports that flu vaccines have been stolen to be sold on the black market.

Dr. David Roos reported the theft of the vaccine from refrigerated compartments at his office in Aurora during the weekend, the Rocky Mountain News reported.

"I just can't believe anybody would do this," he said. "It means it probably is on the black market somewhere."

Roos doubted any doctors or hospitals would buy the stolen doses because they know the danger of drugs in the wrong hands. The vials must be refrigerated at the right temperature to maintain their effectiveness

Remember:

1) Price controls cause shortages.

2) Shortages result in theft, panic, black markets, etc.

Tell the government to keep its hands off of prices. Freely fluctuating prices are the life blood of the economy.

Election fraud in Colorado and Pennsylvania

In an article entitled Unregistered Voters, Rejoice, the Denver Post summarizes the election day catastrophe that we are about to endure.

"The whole purpose of registration and all the rules, the HAVA Act, the American Voter Act, the state statutes and the secretary of state's rules, are to ensure an orderly election." [quoting one county clerk]

It may already be too late for that.

Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, in Pennsylvania:

Gov. Ed Rendell plans to put hand-picked state officials at county election offices to offer assistance on Election Day, raising suspicions among Republican leaders.

As soon as this Democratic party induced trouble hits the fan, the DNC will be there to shout "intimidation" and blame it all on the Republicans.

The October surprise is starting to take shape.

KERRY/EDWARDS ELECTION DIRECTIVE

I am simply going to lift the headline and text directly from the Drudge page:

"KERRY/EDWARDS ELECTION DIRECTIVE: CHARGE VOTER INTIMIDATION, EVEN IF NONE EXISTS!"
'If no signs of intimidation techniques have emerged yet, launch a 'pre-emptive strike''...

The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained a 66-page mobilization plan to be issued by the Kerry/Edwards campaign and the Democratic National Committee...

Spread this to everyone you know. This is one that the blogosphere and talk radio must force into the mainstream. This one is more important than Rathergate.

Debbie Schlussel/ Daniel Pipes

A plug for a friend:

Columnist Debbie Schlussel will speak with renowned Islam expert Dr. Daniel Pipes at Duke University, Durham, NC, this Thursday. She will speak out against the "National Student Conference of the Palestine Solidarity Movement" a/k/a the Divestment (from Israel) Conference, which features terrorism-supporters and Islamist haters of Christians, Jews, and Westerners.

The event takes place at 6:30 pmThursday, October 14, 6:30 p.m. in
the Love Auditorium, Levine Science Research Center.
Sponsored by the Duke Conservative Union

In 2002, Debbie spoke at a similar rally against the Divestment
Conference at the University of Michigan, and was the lawyer for
groups opposing it.

Update on school plans

Last week I commented on the American school plans found in Iraq on a computer disk.

Today, the Washingon Times reports that 25 Chechen terrorists may have illegally entered the U.S. through Mexico.

Numerous blogs have already commented on this alarming development. Malkin, Blogs of War, etc.

The Chechens would have no reason to enter the United States unless their war was part of the overall Islamic war against the West.

How hard would it be for one of these terrorists to hijack a school bus and take it to a secluded location before the authorities noticed?

New Kerry commercial

It is official. John Kerry stands by his 1971 testimony, in which he accused American soldiers of shooting civilians, rape, etc. I saw a Kerry commercial on ABC last night featuring the widow of a soldier that died in Vietnam. She insisted that:

1) her husband would be shocked at the Swift Boat Vet attacks on Kerry; and

2) John Kerry told the truth about Vietnam (cut to an old photo of Kerry testifying).

Aside from the question of how she knows what her husband thought about Kerry, the real question is, does she believe her husband to be a rapist and murderer like all the other 2.5 million American servicemen?

Didn't Clinton tell Kerry to stop talking about Vietnam? Maybe Clinton should have told him to just stop talking period.

Democrat campaign violence - the latest

Rather than repost Michelle Malkin's links, it is easier simply to direct you to her site. She links to stories of broken windows in Alaska and Washington and threats against a Republican congressional candidate in Monterey, California. She includes other stories that we carried here yesterday.

Futility, Retreat, the Kerry campaign, etc. . . .

The London Times reports on the popularity of the Islamic beheading videos among muslim youth in Britain. They collect and exchange these videos through their mobile phones almost as a fetish. The practice is widespread. The muslim downloaders include followers of Abu Hamza al-Masri. Hat tip to the Belmont Club for placing this practice, the Kerry campaign, and the cult of futility into context:

Which goes to prove that the worst job in the world isn't cleaning the floor at the peep-show but scouring the linoleum in the sacred establishment of Abu Hamza al-Masri, blessed be his name. One might criticize the conduct of the war on grounds that it should go faster, or be conducted in a different way, but it takes a special kind of obtuseness to argue the superfluity of defense against those who save the images of death agonies as a fetish. Yet that idea forms the unshakeable core of a Liberal creed which has a 50% chance of becoming American policy for the next four years.

Herbert Lottman, describing the last days of Paris before it fell to Germans in 1940 describes the strange mixture of urgency and lassitude, of obsession with long term schemes counterpointed by an indifference to the immediate in a nation that had just weeks to live. It was the perfect portrait of a country which did not know it was at war. Not really. The French Communists continued to call for "Peace Government" to mollify a Germany wronged by defeat in the First War. Parisian authorities forbade the private purchase of firearms by citizens anxious to protect themselves. Bread was rationed to 30 grams per meal at de luxe restaurants though 100 grams could be obtained at a bistro meal. The French cabinet pinned its hopes on more aircraft from neutral America as if they had any prospect of receiving any future shipments. Nero fiddled. Rome burned. When the Nazi columns finally marched into Paris, there was a widespread feeling of betrayal and a search for a scapegoat.

[emphasis added]

For those who are still not sure that we are at war or what we are fighting, check out John Quincy Adams Knew Jihad.

Mark Steyn column

Mark Steyn's column was pulled this week by the Telegraph Group due to disagreements with his editors. The column is posted in its entirety at Steyn's site. I would not have pulled his column, of course, but I will leave that discussion to others. This news is all over the blogosphere by now. Check out Michelle Malkin, Belmont Club and others.

In discussing the beheading death of Kenneth Bigley in Iraq, Steyn provides advice for all of us if we find ourselves in a similar situation:

By contrast with the Fleet Street-Scouser-Whitehall fiasco of the last three weeks, consider Fabrizio Quattrocchi, murdered in Iraq on April 14th. In the moment before his death, he yanked off his hood and cried defiantly, “I will show you how an Italian dies!” He ruined the movie for his killers. As a snuff video and recruitment tool, it was all but useless, so much so that the Arabic TV stations declined to show it.

If the FCO wants to issue advice in this area, that’s the way to go: If you’re kidnapped, accept you’re unlikely to survive, say “I’ll show you how an Englishman dies”, and wreck the video. If they want you to confess you’re a spy, make a little mischief: there are jihadi from Britain, Italy, France, Canada and other western nations all over Iraq – so say yes, you’re an MI6 agent, and so are those Muslims from Tipton and Luton who recently joined the al-Qaeda cells in Samarra and Ramadi. As Churchill recommended in a less timorous Britain: You can always take one with you. If Mr Blair and other government officials were to make that plain, it would be, to use Mr Bigley’s word, “enough”. A war cannot be subordinate to the fate of any individual caught up in it.

And, if you don’t want to wind up in that situation, you need to pack heat and be prepared to resist at the point of abduction. I didn’t give much thought to decapitation when I was mooching round the Sunni Triangle last year, but my one rule was that I was determined not to get into a car with any of the locals and I was willing to shoot anyone who tried to force me. If you’re not, you shouldn’t be there.

More violence in Washington state

The growing violence against Bush campaign offices has attracted the attention of the Seattle Times, as they reported last night's attack on the Spokane headquarters.

The Times referred to the attack as " . . . the latest in a string of crimes at Republican offices across the country."

Violence Update

John Fund summarizes recent and previously unreported campaign violence across the country. Guess which side is perpretating all of the violence:

Orlando's fracas was mirrored in Miami, where police reported that more than 100 union protestors stormed the Bush-Cheney office and shoved volunteers aside. No one was charged because most of the protestors left before the police arrived. In Tampa, about 35 protestors filled the local GOP office and intimidated the elderly volunteers working there.

The AFL-CIO took credit on its Web site for similar demonstrations--apparently all coordinated--in Independence, Mo., Kansas City, Mo., Dearborn, Mich., St. Paul, Minn., and West Allis, Wis. In what could be a related incident, the Bush-Cheney office in Knoxville, Tenn., had its plate-glass windows shattered by gunfire on Tuesday morning before volunteers showed up for work. Another Republican office, in Seattle, was broken into and had computer files stolen.

[Emphasis added.]

These tactics will work only if we keep quiet about it.

Stolen Honor

Balloon Juice carries the story of numerous local stations in swing states that will run the anti-Kerry documentary "Stolen Honor" in prime time in late October.

Update on Iraqi computer files - plans for U.S. schools

ABC news reported late last week that the discovery of Iraqi computer disks containing floor plans and security info on schools in eight U.S. towns had nothing to do with terrorism. ABC quoted government sources as saying this information was legitimate research. No Beslans here.

I remain skeptical. Is there any doubt that the terrorists would like to do the same thing here? Is there any doubt that Osama bin Laden, if he were still alive, would be planning a U.S. horror similar to Beslan?

I place no confidence in official denials. Had only one plane crashed into the WTC on September 11, the FAA line would be that it was an accident. When it comes to education, the government will do anything to maintain unwarranted confidence in the public schools. The only exception is the gun control advocates' attempts to frighten parents about school shootings. Leftists continue to use Columbine as an excuse to ban guns despite any adverse effect that their campaign might have on public school enrollment. In that case, leftists consider it more important to oppose guns than to support public education.

The leftists hate gun rights more than they oppose parents right to choose their children's education.

Update on ABC memo

The New York Post has picked up on the ABC bias instruction memo story. The Post weaves this story into the entire media bias picture, especially as it relates to this campaign and Rathergate.

The Post adds some speculation as to how the networks usually maintain their leftist tilt among the employees:

Will Halperin be put on the shelf?

For what? For putting in writing the instructions that usually are transmitted in winks and nods?

Don't bet on it.

I want to know more about the "winks and nods".

Excellent summary of Kerry's four point plan

Jack Kelly of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette provides an excellent summary of Kerry's alleged war plan. More importantly, Kelly summarizes Kerry's attempts to undermine our allies during this campaign.

Fort Myers, Fla.; Salem, Ore.; Gray, Ga.; Birch Run, Mich.; Franklinville and Rumson, New Jersey; San Diego, California

What do these places have in common? U.S. military personnel in Iraq have found computer files containing floor plans and security information from elementary schools located in those towns.

We have all been expecting another attack before the election. Will the terrorists choose a Beslan style school massacre? And what other school plans from what other towns are currently sitting in terrorist computers?

As reported by Vox Day, public officials tried to downplay these items initially, by indicating that the public schools are safe. But the danger is real and will not go away once the election is over.

Would ABC have picked up on this story if it had not been reported on the internet first? Notice that the Vox Day column predated the ABC report by three days.

Islamic voter fraud in Florida

Check out WorldNetDaily for a description of an Islamic attempt to force the acceptance of hundreds of incomplete and late Islamic voter registrations.

Wood?

Where do I sign up to get some of W's firewood? I'll take 5.6 trillion dollars worth.

Tonight's debate

I lost interest completely when Kerry said that Bush had inherited a 5.6 trillion dollar surplus.

ABC News internal memo

Matt Drudge has posted an ABC internal memo that counsels staff not to hold both sides "equally accountable." Others will talk more about the memo itself, but I have a more basic question.

I have always wondered how the networks keep their staff in line. How do they enforce such hegemony among their reporters and writers? How do they keep them on the same ideological track day after day? How do they cause their reporters to ignore the obvious and distort facts for the duration of a long campaign and beyond?

In a large network with many employees, it takes a lot more than internal memos to accomplish that task. This evidence provides a good start on finding out the rest of the story.

We usually see only the biased results on our televisions in the evening. We saw the Dan Rather memos and CBS' attempts to defend them. We see so little of the process that goes into producing such propaganda.

Thank you to the anonymous ABC employee that forwarded the memo to Drudge. It is only to appease those potential whistleblowers that the networks occasionally veer into fair territory. When you see a fair story on ABC news, don't be fooled into thinking that the network has gotten better. The occasional truth passing out of network headquarters is necessary to keep the network as a whole in line.

Even with such careful maneuvering, the occasional Bernard Goldberg or anonymous memo passer can do tremendous damage to the network facade.

Violence will continue after the election

The ongoing Democrat intimidation campaign will continue after the election and into the future. So predicts The American Thinker.

"In fact, if Bush wins, I am on the record as warning of the possibility of left wing political violence breaking out."

There are almost too many blogs now tracking this violence for us to keep track of. Monitor this page and the Commissar's "Brownshirt Meter" for updates.

Payback in Washington State

From a Vancouver, Washington resident (I am not sure who Larry is or how the message initially spread):

Dear Larry,

Last Thursday I put out one of my Bush/Cheney signs in my front yard. Between midnight and 3:00 a.m. someone stole it. On Friday night I put out sign No. 2. Since I didn't have to get up early, I thought my dog and I would "stake out" our sign. This time I put the sign a little closer to the gate leading to my backyard. With my dog on an extra long leash, I planted myself on a lawn chair and read "Unfit for Command" by flashlight until about 1:00 a.m. Here comes the fun part . . . I noticed that the car coming down the street was slowing down and pulling over to the curb right next to my yard. Sure enough, he gets out of his car and heads right for my sign. Just as he was about to uproot and desecrate it, I opened my gate and let my dog make the initial introduction! As he ran to hide behind the rear end of his car, I promptly moved to the driver-side door, which was still open. It was a fairly nice car with power everything and still running. While my dog continued to "introduce" herself, I rolled up the window and hit the power door lock button. With that, I slammed the door, grabbed my Bush sign and headed into the back yard.

And now for the "rest of the story." About 40 minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. I opened the door to one of our city's finest . . . the Vancouver Police Department. The officer asked me what was going on and when I told him, he could not stop laughing! I followed him out to the perp's car and stood there while he asked the guy a few more questions. Upon learning that the guy lived a couple of streets down, I -- knowing what was about to happen -- asked him, "Why do you have Oregon plates on your car if you live just down the street (here in Vancouver, Wash)?" Oregon has no sales tax, so often Washington residents will buy and register cars in Oregon to avoid paying sales tax . . . it's a crime and the fine is pretty stiff. Here comes the best part. . . . The look on this guy's face told me he knew he was about to get busted. When the officer asked for his license and registration, the "Democrat" mumbled that (his license) was suspended. Just for kicks and giggles I asked the officer if he smelled any alcohol coming from the guy! The officer looked at me, smiled and promptly gave him a field breathalyzer test. Guess what? You got it, he blew a ...10, legally drunk in the state of Washington.

DUI, illegal registration and the brand of "MORON," all 'cause he hates Bush!

Sincerely,

John

Violence updates

The Commissar at Acepilots blog (Politburo Diktat)is maintaining a "Brownshirt Meter" to keep track of Democrat violence against Republicans across the country. You can send your anecdotes of destroyed signs, harrassment, vandalism to commissar@acepilots.com.

While this violence won't cause the end of freedom in America, it is a sign that a substantial portion of the population is ready for dictatorship and will use violent means to bring it about. The biggest sign of this willingness to submit is simply the poll numbers showing that more than 1% of the population would vote for Kerry in the first place. In a truly free country such as this one used to be, a John Kerry would have been dismissed as a lunatic long before he could even come within 100 miles of a major party nomination.

Seventy years of welfare and state controls have softened us for the final onslaught. As chronicled in Caesar and Christ, the Roman revolution that resulted in the dictatorship of Caesar lasted about 80 years. The violence described in previous posts occurred very near the end of that period.

Violence spreading

Democrat violence is spreading across the country. In Wisconsin, already the site of voter fraud this year, Democrat storm troopers attacked and occupied Republican headquarters yesterday.

More examples have occurred in Ohio, Gainesville, Florida and Maryland.

Powerline sums it up this way:

Al Gore complained that Republicans on the internet are "digital Brownshirts." It's time to start getting concerned about real Brownshirts, all of whom are Democrats.

The following passage from Will Durant describes Rome in 53 B.C. [emphasis added]:

Any man who would vote as paid was admitted to the rolls, whether citizen or not; sometimes only a minority of those who cast ballots were entitled to vote. The privilege of addressing the assembly had on several occasions to be won by storming the rostrum and holding it by main force. Legislation came to be determined by the fluctuating superiority of rival gangs; those who voted the wrong way were, now and then, beaten to within an inch of their lives, after which their houses were set on fire.

It is important to remember that all of the legislative and electoral processes had been run peacefully for centuries before this time. The disruptions of which Durant wrote led to the dictatorship and many disastrous consequences.

These events are not merely campaign issues. The future of the country is at stake.

Campaign violence on the rise.

Just today, there have been reports that the Republican headquarters in Orlando have been stormed and ransacked and the Republican headquarters in Knoxville have been fired upon.

Earlier, shots were fired at the Republican headquarters in Huntington, while the Republican headquarters in Washington state were burglarized last week. The thieves in Washington made off with computers containing essential campaign strategy, including the Republicans' "72 hour plan." No doubt the details of that plan now sit on Terry McAuliffe's desk.

We are witnessing the continuation of the Democrats' battle for illegitimate power, much like their attempt to hijack the Florida election in 2000.

We have now arrived at a situation much like the Roman republic in its final days (@55 B.C.), when factions fought violently for control of political processes that had operated peacefully for centuries. The violent battles for control of the forum yielded shortly to the dictatorship that crushed freedom in Rome and led to so many disastrous consequences.

What will be the end result of our political battles?

Saddam loyalists working with Al Qaeda in Iraq

The World Tribune provides some detail as to the origins of the Iraqi terrorists now fighting against the coalition. Saddam loyalists lead the insurgency, while Al Qaeda operatives from around Africa are assisting.

Monday, October 04, 2004

Where are they now?

CNS News has an exclusive on Hussein's WMDs. During the summer of 2000, Iraq had anthrax and mustard gas.

The article also indicates Iraqi ties to Al-Qaeda.

The question is, how long before these WMD's turn up in New York? Probably less time than it will take for the MSM to acknowledge this story.

Intentional incoherence

Thanks to Durow for pointing me to Dick Morris' recent column:

Of course the United States needs to have China at the table to pressure Kim Jong Il. How else are we going to get the North Koreans to give away their nuclear weapons and stop building more?

Obviously a president can't ask our troops to suffer and die for a war he calls a mistake and "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Clearly our allies will be roiled by a president who calls them a coalition of the "bribed and the coerced" and belittles their contributions even as their soldiers risk their lives.

Certainly a free Iraq would send a signal to Iran — which is the only way we can get the mullahs to abstain from nuclear-weapon development.

Plainly, we need bunker-busting nuclear weapons. Where do you think the WMDs are — in store windows?

Unquestionably, we need a missile defense. Why do you think North Korea is testing its missiles?

Morris points out that Kerry's arguments are obviously wrong, but Morris gets bogged down in the day-to-day campaign strategy. Morris will seldom qualify as a Cassandra for this reason.

What is significant is not the campaign strategy that surrounds those points. I will leave that to others. What is significant is the absolute devotion by one major party to a foreign policy course that is so obviously wrong.

America is fighting a war not only with one hand tied behind its back, but with one hand punching itself in the gut.

John Kerry broke debate rules.

I normally try to keep this blog at a more fundamental level than merely the latest campaign coverage. But the New Media will work only if all of us do our part to spread the word about leftist atrocities.

Check out INDC for video of John Kerry pulling a high school stunt with a cheat sheet at last week's debate.

The Daily Recycler has put the video to music.

Thanks to Drudge for providing the megaphone.

Also check out Boston.com if the others have too much traffic.

Didn't Kerry joke on Letterman that Bush would need a "lifeline?"

The man has no regard for the truth or even whether he gets caught. He doesn't care if he gets caught lying, changing his position, cheating, faking medals, etc. What a nightmare a Kerry administration would be. Would he leave any law unbroken?

Update on "misinformation" - Malkin - Vox Day

The post dealing with Vox Day's misleading WWII information needs a little updating as per a request in a comment.

Vox Day claims we lost only 5 battleships at Pearl Harbor out of a total of 17 in the entire fleet. He wrote this in response to Michelle Malkin's book and a John Leo column dealing with the same book.

In fact, we had only fifteen active battleships at the time of the attack. All of these had been built between 20 and 30 years earlier. (The new battleships designed in the 1930's would not be ready until anywhere from a few months to more than a year after Pearl Harbor.) Eight of these battleships were destroyed or damaged at Pearl Harbor. Two of these ships were never repaired. The others required months to repair. The West Virginia remained under water for several months before repairs could begin. Following repair, these ships had to undergo lengthy refit on the West Coast so that they would not be vulnerable to further aerial assault. The old WWI designs were not sufficient for WWII naval warfare. The lengthy resurrection and repair process has been detailed by Dan Madsen.

The situation was every bit as grim as Leo and Malkin have described. And so is the current immigration situation with respect to potential terrorists who would undermine and destroy our civilization. .

9/11 Commission report

Debra Burlingame, sister of a 9/11 pilot/victim, makes a strong point and points out a crucial piece of the 9/11 Commission report in today's Wall Street Journal:

For many 9/11 family members, the most compelling reason for putting an end to Saddam's dangerous regime can be found in the 9/11 Commission's pointed analysis on the subject of "imminent threats." As we forced ourselves to read through the voluminous material which explains in excruciating detail the disparate threads of the 9/11 plot, we were constantly mindful of the seemingly innocuous events which would ultimately prove critical to the cruel and brutal deaths of our loved ones. We understand the commission's dire warning and wish that our fellow Americans would listen closely: "Once the danger has fully materialized, evident to all, mobilizing action is easier--but it then may be too late."

Rather than waiting until it was too late to prevent a fully materialized threat, President Bush acted. We believe history will support his courageous decision. We believe the president has demonstrated strength, consistency and a laser-like focus, sending a clear message to America's friends and foes that he will not waver in his resolve as the winds of political fortune change.

Of course she is right, but how did we get to the point where one major party could credibly rally its base by arguing in favor of waiting for the danger to "fully materialize?" The fact is, they can't make this argument in clear terms, because to state it is to refute it. They must make the argument by implication by accusing the President of "rushing to war."

Update on Vietnamization

Dick Morris has a good take on Kerry's Iraq strategy. Morris explains why the strategy won't get Kerry elected, but Morris fails to account for the longer term Democrat strategy of undermining America at every turn.

Vietnamization of the War on Terror

Regardless of who wins this election, Democrat seem most concerned with undermining the war effort at all costs. This strategy is not merely an election strategy for the Dems.

Democrats know that the war is the most difficult issue for them to win. Instead of focusing on domestic issues that might earn points for them in November, they flail away at the war while undermining and ridiculing allies. Even if Kerry were to win the election, he is placing his administration in an untenable position by virtue of his current anti-war position.

I think that Kerry, McAuliffe, Carville, etc. really don't care. Their main goal is to undermine the war at all costs, much like they did with the Vietnam protests. The most likely outcome will be a Bush victory in November followed by years of a Democratic war of attrition here at home. The Democrats' hope is that the continued "aid and comfort" to the enemy will eventually wear out the public's stomach for the war. Only time will tell if they are right.
