Those who are looking to persecute the politically incorrect will spend a great deal of effort and time researching the past of those they seek to destroy.   They will never learn that they are on a fool's errand.

Don't be too excited about the prospect of another Obama scandal (as reported by the recently more reliable National Enquirer.)

The Enquirer claims that a video tape exists of Obama with Vera Baker at a hotel:

Analyzing the reports, a top DC insider said the driver's account had been independently corroborated by investigators who believe the couple spent the night together at the hotel.

On-site hotel surveillance video camera footage may provide indisputable evidence.

"Investigators are attempting to obtain a tape from the hotel (that) shows Vera and Barack together," the DC insider confided.

"If the tape surfaces, it will explode the scandal."

I am almost certian that no videotape will ever surface. [The MSM/DNC has been sitting on this story for 1.5 years already.] Obama's thugs at SEIU, ACORN, etc. have an easy job if they wish to squelch the video. Assuming they find the person that now holds the video, they need only promise to exempt him from Obamacare.

The creation of Obamacare now gives the regime a weapon like no other. Americans face the loss of their ability to obtain medical treatment under Obamacare. We will all become lost in the new medical bureaucracy, like today's residents of UK and Canada. But for those that the regime exempts from the system, medical care will be available. The passage of Obamacare now gives the regime the opportunity to dole out life and death, simply by exempting its friends from Obamacare's provisions.

A video of Vera Baker with the President would seemingly be quite valuable. Such a video would fetch a high price on the black market. But now, no amount of money could equal a "get out of Obamacare" card. The regime holds the ultimate trumpcard.

If you are looking for dirt on Hannah Giles in retaliation for the videos that exposed corruption at ACORN, you have been suckered. Or should I say, "suckered again?"

Of course I have no such pictures. But that doesn't stop the left from looking, as if nude photos of an investigative reporter could justify ACORN's attempts to undermine the electoral process.

I am trying another experiment. Last year, I attracted google traffic from idiots looking for dirt on Sarah Palin. This past April, I attracted google traffic from idiots looking for dirt on Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California whose crown was removed because her views on gay marriage agree with those of the majority of Americans.

Both posts drew tremendous amounts of traffic (especially the post on Carrie Prejean).

Now, I want to see how many people are trying to find dirt on Sgt. Crowley so as to somehow justify the race card comments of Barack Obama this week.

You were suckered the same way that leftists were repeatedly suckered here last fall when they were vainly searching Google for some dirt on Sarah Palin.

Leftists argue for their favorite causes not with logic, but by smearing their opponents.

Some sources are now claiming that nude pics are about to appear. Leftists argue that this somehow proves that gay marriage is a good idea. Years from now, when archeologists are trying to figure out why we abandoned the institutions of western civilization (including marriage), they will never know and would not believe that we allowed our civilization to be destroyed because a beauty pageant queen was photographed nude.

I (and other logical people) say that it makes no difference. Personal attacks do not trump arguments for or against western civilization. If nude photos appear, take a break from fighting gay marriage to enjoy the photos.

The latest (?) smear is that Sarah Palin referred to B. Hussein Obama as a "Sambo" who beat the "bitch" - Hillary Clinton. The same people are spreading this rumor who would not entertain the thought that Hillary Clinton called someone a "F---- Jew B-----" and who called Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele a "Sambo."

[I place a question mark after "latest" because there will be 10 more smears by the time I hit the "publish" button.]

As Michelle Malkin wrote, "[f]or every nutball blogger who spreads it, there should be 50 to defuse, debunk, and beat it down."

The left does not even care that this smear will be widely disbelieved. They are playing to their base. The leftist base operates outside the realm of human civilization. They exist only to destroy civilization and so foul the political process that they will win even if they lose. There is nothing more important to the left than maintaining an energized, unreasoning, rampaging, destructive base. To the left, credibility pales in comparison to having such a base.

I thought many times before publishing this video. But the video is already spreading throughout the internet. I don't know whether the story is true.

I recall that Obama became a Senator because someone published scandalous details [supposedly sealed by the court] on the sex life of Obama's opponent [Jeri Ryan's husband]. So I am not shedding a tear about Obama's privacy. The original video is posted at Youtube here. Part of the reason I post it is that Youtube videos have a habit of disappearing.

It appears that the creator of the Big Sister 1984 ad was a political consultant that works for a company that works for Barack Obama.



Many commentators have stated that this ad marks some sort of watershed event in campaigning because one individual was able to compete with professional, expensive consultants. This ad has been hailed a breakthrough that will democratize the media and political worlds.

Those who think that the "Big Sister" video constitutes some sort of revolution ignore the real revolution that has occurred in the new media, talk radio and blogosphere over the past 20 years, particularly since 1998. The MSM/DNC once again ignores history. MSM/DNC ignores Rathergate, which occurred in 2004 and saw the defeat of CBS at the hands of a few blogs. MSM/DNC ignores the role of the new media in bringing down CNN during Easongate and in exposing various fauxto scandals in recent years.

The new media revolution has been described in Hugh Hewitt's book, Blog. An earlier discussion appeared in The Drudge Manifesto. But the same commenters who hail the Big Sister video as a "revolution" have been attacking every new media achievement since Drudge broke the Lewinksy story in January 1998.

The Big Sister video is not a revolution by itself. The video is merely another step in the new media revolution that has been growing since Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves in 1988.

MSM/DNC intentionally confuses method with content. MSM/DNC is eager to tout any new media event that somehow supports a leftist candidate. MSM/DNC would have us believe that the new media revolution is all about technology. But the new media revolution cannot be separated from the conservative content that has accompanied every true new media accomplishment in recent years. Drudge's revelations about Clinton/Lewinsky revolutionized the news business because a leftist MSM/DNC had suppressed all Clinton scandals. Rathergate was a true revolution because the leftist MSM/DNC had always enjoyed free reign to influence elections through print and television. Rathergate was not merely a case of the MSM/DNC doing the same thing through the internet. CBS could spread every national guard lie it wants through the internet, but the internet would not give those lies any more traction. The internet/blogosphere worked for CBS' opponents because the bloggers' message resonated. The internet worked for Drudge because Drudge's message resonated. Drudge's readers were eager for the unfiltered truth about Clinton. Powerline's and LGF's readers were eager for the truth about CBS. The internet was merely the available outlet for the truth.

The "Big Sister" video worked because it reflected the truth that so many of us have known about Hillary for 15 years. This video, no matter how much technology was involved, would not have worked against a non-Orwellian candidate. I cannot see this ad being effective against a Bob Dole or George Bush (I or II). It worked only because the Democrats are the party of big government, IRS, ATF, etc. The message is effective, not the fact that we watch on Youtube.

The new media revolution has been driven as much by the outpouring of previously suppressed truth as it has been driven by technology. The old media can reassert itself without the benefit of the new technology by simply reflecting the values of middle America and by pursuing the truth without becoming part of the permanent campaign of the Democratic Party.

CBS could substantially increase the viewership of the evening news for Katie Couric's teleprompter by abandoning the MSM/DNC agenda. But the MSM/DNC agenda is more important to CBS [and the other MSM/DNC outlets] than ratings or profitability. The MSM/DNC could have squashed the blogosphere years ago by simply abandoning the leftist agenda. With no leftist media agenda to oppose or counteract, the blogosphere would have had no reason to exist other than for teenage girls to publish their diaries. By surpressing conservative viewpoints, pro-America facts, Islamic terrorism news, etc., MSM/DNC guarantees that those facts and views will find their way into the new media.

Anna Nicole Smith, Lew Burdette, Joshua Perper, Al Qaeda, Abu Ayyub al-Masri and MSM/DNC white noise

Did you know that Lew Burdette died this week? Do you know who Lew Burdette is? Lew Burdette was the MVP of the 1957 world series. He pitched 24 straight scoreless innings over the Yankees (the team with Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, etc.) in that series. He won three complete game victories. He was a teammate of Hank Aaron.








Yet his death was relegated to a brief mention in the sports pages or on Fox Sports Radio. There were no features or interviews with Hank Aaron or endless updates on his death with absolutely no new information. Can this be explained by the fact that he did not look like this - ?




I think there is more to it than mere looks. Anna Nicole Smith was famous for no good reason. She was the subject of an inheritance lawsuit, she appeared on reality television, she was the center of tragedy in recent months, she was involved in a paternity suit, etc. But these events are not that uncommon anymore. In a world where the vice-President's daughter can have a baby with another woman and be greeted with yawns, Anna Nicole's life was quite mundane. Yet I believe that is the reason for her fame. The media specializes in creating celebrity out of nothing.

What does Paris Hilton actually do? or Sean "Puffy" "P. Diddy" Combs? They do nothing as far as I can tell. They are famous merely because they are famous. They receive attention merely because they have already received attention. Their fame has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. They are the celebrity version of political polls.

When Princess Diana died, television commentators stumbled all over themselves around the clock for the next few days trying to think of something she actually did to merit all of the attention. For ten seconds they would list her work against land mines and in favor of AIDS victims. After that they had very little to say. Today, the commentators have stopped even trying to find some justification for the fame. Instead of trying to summarize why Anna Nicole Smith justifies all of the endless coverage, the MSM/DNC speculates as to which drugs may have been in her hotel room when she died. [The commentators have also tried to contrive a Marylin Monroe analogy, but that analogy is pitiful, as Monroe acted in many, many first run movies with A-list co-stars. Monroe's fame was based on her acting.]

A modern Rip Van Winkle, waking up after sleeping since the mid-1970's, upon hearing the news coverage of the past few days in which the MSM/DNC continuously used the deceased's middle name, might conclude that Anna Nicole Smith had assassinated the President or committed some other horrific crime like other three-named villains of the past.

The Anna Nicole Smith coverage is nothing but White Noise. See p. 171 of Hugh Hewitt's book "Blog" and #21 in the bias categories list for a fuller discussion of how the MSM/DNC uses "White Noise" to drown out important topics.

As an example of how successful this White Noise strategy has been, do you know who Abu Ayyub al-Masri is? Did you know that he is the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq and that U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed or captured numerous of his aides in the past few days. If you receive your news primarily from the MSM/DNC, you most likely are unaware of this fact. The
MSM/DNC does not want you to know that U.S. forces in Iraq are eliminating much of the group responsible for 9-11. Any story that reveals our success against Al-Qaeda in Iraq would undermine MSM/DNC efforts to generate public support for a U.S. retreat in the face of the enemy that destroyed part of New York City.

Here is another example of how MSM/DNC shallowness results in missed stories. In watching some of the coverage of the Anna Nicole Smith death, I was surprised to see Joshua Perper on television holding a press conference. I recall Perper's term as coroner in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, which term ended when he was replaced by Dr. Sanford Edberg. The two men got into a shoving match in front of TV cameras in 1980 as Edberg sought to assume his office. The sight of two coroners physically shoving each other for control of the coroner's office was, to say the least, interesting. It would make an interesting sidelight during the endless, monotonous Smith coverage for the MSM/DNC to resurrect and display that film. Yet the MSM/DNC misses that opportunity because the concept of "memory" is hostile to the mission of the MSM/DNC. MSM/DNC propaganda depends on the public forgetting what happened yesterday or last year or 27 years ago. Even though Dr. Perper's history in Pittsburgh has no real bearing on the Smith case, the MSM/DNC cannot break out of its anti-memory default mode even for the purpose of finding some historical film that would entertain its audience during this nonstop gabfest.

Here is a final analogy and a prediction. The MSM/DNC cannot continue to operate forever in this manner. Eventually, it will be successful in destroying western civilization (in which case the MSM/DNC will die also) or it will continue to lose power and market share to the new media and will eventually cease to exist. But if the MSM/DNC were to continue in power indefinitely despite its silliness and its strategy to distract attention from the vital issues affecting America's survival, our children will experience the following:

In 50 years or so, Peyton Manning will pass away. Like Lew Burdette, Manning's death will receive little coverage (despite his accomplishments in our own era).

In 30 years, a woman will be born - it does not matter who she is. By a combination of luck, looks, scandal and publicity stunts, she will eventually become famous despite having no actual career or accomplishments. Her exploits as a 20+ year old will eclipse the news coverage that Peyton Manning's death receives.

Classics of Conservatism - part XII - Robert Ringer - How You Can Find Happiness During the Collapse of Western Civilization

This month's Classic of Conservatism book is Robert Ringer's "How You Can Find Happiness During the Collapse of Western Civilization."

Imagine the scenarios that confronted the United States in the late 1970's and early 1980's. We had faced double digit inflation and high unemployment for years. We had endured government created energy crises, foreign policy crises and social upheaval. We faced the loss of our basic industries, such as automobiles, steel and other manufacturing sectors. All of the conditions that swept Ronald Reagan into the White House were fresh in our memories.

These events were not mere inconveniences. The loss of our basic industries and the ongoing economic and social collapse caused many of us to doubt whether the United States would survive. Had Reagan not been elected, I shudder to think what further calamities would have befallen the United States in the 1980's.

But recent events prove that Reagan's election, while helpful, did not permanently resolve the issues that have plagued our country for the past generation. We merely forgot about them for awhile as a new generation of Democrats and leftists sought to return us to their paradise known as the 1970's. As Ringer writes on page 171 (hardback edition):

Human beings are a strange lot. They will scream bloody murder when subjected to discomfort, yet, within a short time of being relieved of their misery, will show little or no interest in devising ways to avoid such discomfort in the future.

Ringer goes on to describe how Americans have failed to prepare for shortages, civil unrest and a host of other serious problems.

Since the publication of "Collapse", numerous American cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Houston and Toledo have been temporarily paralyzed by civil unrest, foreign attack, natural disaster or some combination thereof. I chose "Collapse" as this month's book recommendation because so many of these events have occurred recently. The television scenes of mass evacuation, chaos and violence are so unnecessary for those who are prepared for government failure and are not afraid to take steps to protect themselves.

Ringer proposes solutions that each of us can undertake without waiting for others to help us or for the government to adopt one policy or another. Ringer discusses everything from investments to choosing where to live to choosing an occupation (or hobby) that will provide a second skill. The book remains relevant even after more than 20 years.

The number one question in our minds as we watched the recent evacuation of Houston on TV centered on the ability of the government to deal with future crises, including the possibility of a nuclear suitcase bomb. A DHS official was asked (on Nightline) what the government would do in the event of a nuclear attack in a major city. He could not provide an answer other than to say that the Department was learning from the Houston crisis.

That is not good enough. Ringer provides many steps for you to protect yourself without relying on the government. The first such step is to read "How You Can Find Happiness During the Collapse of Western Civilization."

Price controls cause shortages

Pennsylvania and other jurisdictions are considering "price controls" for gasoline in the wake of the Katrina created price fluctuations. The Pennsylvania Senate recently passed a bill that limits the amount by which prices can rise during a "disaster emergency."

If this bill passes the House of Representatives, the next emergency will involve more than mere high prices. We will be faced with shortages as a result of the government's ham-handed price control measure.

Prices rise for a reason. Just before labor day weekend, prices rose because retailers and wholesalers feared that replacement supplies would be hard to come by or unavailable. Katrina ruptured pipelines, knocked platforms offline and generally disrupted supplies.

It is a basic law of economics that prices rise when the supply is restricted. Rising prices act as a regulator on the economy and on consumption of goods. Prices convey information. When prices rise, it tells consumers that the supply of certain products is limited. The long term result of a price increase will be that consumer habits will change. The popularity of SUV's will be affected as a result of a gasoline price shock. Our driving habits will change also. Those adjustments don't work when the government interferes with the price. We can whine about the devastation of Katrina forever, but it does not really hit home until we see it on the gas pump as we fill up our car. Only if we are confronted by the actual market price will we know that we must change our habits.

If those prices are prevented from rising, shortages result. Lawmakers cannot change the weather. The lawmakers cannot affect the supply (unless they allow drilling in the ANWR and elsewhere). Forcing the price to remain low while the supply decreases is a recipe for shortages and long lines.

Repeat after me -

"Price controls cause shortages."

If you are still confused, refer to the 1970's.

Will history repeat itself?









We paid more at the pump at the beginning of this month. We will continue to pay more. But we have not yet had to spend our evening waiting in a long gas line or searching for an open station. Pennsylvania's bill (and others like it) bring us one step closer to the nightmare of the Carter years. Or the Nixon years.

Similar policies have wrought havoc in the California electric industry:

California's electricity crisis is treated in the media as if it were some sort of natural disaster, like a hurricane. But the only fact of nature operating here is the hard-and-fast rule that whenever you come across a screw-up this big, you know the government is behind it.

The California Legislature created this problem about five years ago when it deregulated the wholesale market for electricity but fixed prices at the retail level, a policy that has made Cuba the happy, prosperous country that it is today.

Even the New York Times seemed to understand this idea when it wrote, "U.S. Price Controls Are Said to Worsen Power Shortage." [You can bet that the Times won't repeat that statement anytime soon - as long as there is a chance of screwing up the economy during a Republican administration.]

The same logic applies to the New York housing industry.

Shortages where the government sets prices have been common in countries around the world, for centuries on end, whether these shortages have taken the form of waiting lists, black markets, or other ways of coping with the fact that what people demand at an artificially low price exceeds what other people will supply at such prices.

Years ago, Gary North provided advice on how we can survive and deal with government price controls:



I endured the gas lines of the 1970's because I was only a kid. It was unpleasant, but nothing more. Today, I would have to be the one to juggle a busy work schedule with the gas lines. I could no longer simply count on getting gas on the way home. I would have to allocate sufficient time each week for buying gasoline. The gas line would become a regular part of my calendar, like any other appointment. Evening meetings, social events, lunch appointments, business travel and family outings would be disrupted.

Let's not wait until it is too late before we put a stop to this nonsense. We cannot endure another decade like the 1970's. The Republican revolution of 1980 took place because we were tired of the 1970's. Let's not give in to those who seek a return to that unpleasant, miserable decade.

For those unfamiliar with the Rosetta Stone, suffice it to say it was the first piece of ancient Egyptian writing that allowed archaeologists to translate the remaining Egyptian writings. By 1799, archaeologists had long known of and been perplexed by Egyptian writings dating back 5,000 years. The Rosetta Stone was the key to translating all of these writings so that the great mysteries of Egypt could be unlocked.



Prior to the Rosetta Stone's discovery in the ruins of a buried Egyptian fort, ancient Egyptian wonders such as the Pyramids and the sphinx stood mute in the desert.

In modern times, we have observed Hillary on the national stage for more than 13 years. We have observed her role in Bill Clinton's scandals, including the one great scandal of our time. We have seen her defend him and pretend to be the last person on Earth to believe him. We have seen her failed health care plan and her double dealings in Arkansas. We have seen her voluminous biography, in which she managed to say absolutely nothing in 562 pages.

According to Peggy Noonan, Hillary discussed "how to change the American political culture." This discussion occurred in the context of a tribute to a leftist political organizer. Does she reveal her own thoughts on the radicalization and even balkanization of the American political process? It is hard to say, because the thesis has been closely guarded from the moment Hillary entered the national political stage. Jack Anderson could not discover its contents:

Recently syndicated columnist Jack Anderson was doing a story on Hillary Clinton, and in the process his staff requested a copy of her 1969 senior thesis from Wellesley College. It was a seemingly simple request, since normally college theses are public record, available to anyone.

Not, however, in this case. Anderson was told that the current Wellesley president had created a new rule in 1992. The new rule, Anderson says, is that "...the college would seal the senior theses of any Wellesley grads who were either the first lady or the president of the United States." (Perhaps not coincidentally, the president of Wellesley is a long-time friend of Mrs. Clinton's.)

Okay, Anderson asked, can you just tell us the *subject* of the paper? No. Well, was the new policy enacted at Clinton's request? Again, no answer.

Perplexed and intrigued, Anderson contacted Hillary's White House press corps. He was assured it was no big deal, and that he'd be sent a copy of the paper, along with an explanation of why it had been sealed. Several weeks passed, however, and no thesis appeared. Finally he was told that no copy would be coming -- and no explanation would be given.

Eventually, Anderson provided a relatively innocuous explanation for the thesis' contents, but the mystery remains.

Apparently, Barbara Olson came into possession of a copy before she died (on 9-11). She did not publish it, but she wrote her own impressions of this 75 page document:

The thesis' title, "There is Only the Fight ... An Analysis of the Alinsky Model," exposes Clinton's strong ideological attachment to her most influential mentor, Saul Alinsky.

Reading this work makes it clear why she had to remove it from public view, for Alinsky, who died in 1972, was a radical social activist who preached grass-roots organizing and intense, confrontational politics.

Alinsky defined "obtaining power" as a key tactic of organizing his "mass jujitsu." His formula for attack: "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it."

Olson's review is helpful, but only a reading of the original thesis will provide the full story.
Richard Poe, citing Olson's book, summarized it this way (while correcting certain anti-Hillary myths):

A series of hard-Left mentors introduced Hillary to the brass-knuckle realities of revolutionary activism. As a Wellesley undergraduate, she met and interviewed radical organizer Saul Alinsky, whose Machiavellian tactics she admired. Hillary's senior thesis supported Alinsky's call for class warfare.

Once the Rosetta stone was translated (after 20 years of painstaking effort), the writings in the Egyptian pyramids and elsewhere made sense. The secrets of the ancient world were secrets no more. If we can unlock Hillary's radical past, we can explain the mystery that was the Clinton White House and all of its seemingly contradictory policies and political wars. We can also explain (and maybe avoid) the balkanized future that awaits this country as a result of a second Clinton presidency and its aftermath.

I really don't know whether a copy of this thesis is available or what Ms. Olson did with her copy. I do believe a good place to start would be with Barbara Olson's book, "Hell to Pay" and the books of Saul Alinsky.




Now is the time to look into these matters. We can do the research now and figure out how we will expose Hillary Clinton's true agenda. If we don't research this subject until the summer of 2008 when Hillary has a 7-10 point lead in most polls, it may be too late.
