In April I posted an item about Carrie Prejean in which I lured google traffic to this site on the false promise of nude pics and scandal. That post was my biggest traffic draw since the inception of this blog. When the homosexual lobby (otherwise known as the MSM/DNC) found out that Prejean was against gay marriage, they responded not by engaging in rational debate, but by trying to dig up dirt against Prejean. Tens of thousands of "people" were simultaneously searching the internet for evidence that Prejean was once nude (or any other scandal that might exist). And I was the biggest beneficiary of that traffic.

Now that Prejean's replacement, Tami Farrell, has stated the same position on gay marriage as Prejean, she is undoubtedly under similar attack. If you came here looking for such scandal, get a life. You have been fooled again.

Of course none of the above terms apply to Miss California Carrie Prejean. She has no scandal, there are no nude pics, there is no crime and no DUI.

But if you are reading this post, chances are that you were searching Google for some weapon to use against Miss Prejean because she is against gay marriage. You were suckered the same way that leftists were repeatedly suckered here last fall when they were vainly searching Google for some dirt on Sarah Palin.

Leftists argue for their favorite causes not with logic, but by smearing their opponents.

Some sources are now claiming that nude pics are about to appear. Leftists argue that this somehow proves that gay marriage is a good idea. Years from now, when archeologists are trying to figure out why we abandoned the institutions of western civilization (including marriage), they will never know and would not believe that we allowed our civilization to be destroyed because a beauty pageant queen was photographed nude.

I (and other logical people) say that it makes no difference. Personal attacks do not trump arguments for or against western civilization. If nude photos appear, take a break from fighting gay marriage to enjoy the photos.

Random Thoughts on Larry Craig (R - ID); hypocrisy; gay marriage; television programming; restroom gay sex;

• This past weekend's resignation by Senator Craig (Idaho) will not stop the MSM/DNC from talking about the scandal for quite some time.
• More people have died in Senator Kennedy's car than in Senator Craig's restroom stall, yet Kennedy remains a hero to the left and to his party.
• The Republican party is not the place to be if you are a pervert looking for somewhere to hide.
• It is not "hypocrisy" to oppose homosexual marriage (civil unions, etc.) while practicing homosexuality. Opposition to gay marriage is not the same as opposition to homosexuality or opposition to gays themselves. Opposition to homosexual marriage is based on the desire to preserve the insurance industry, creditor rights, property rights and as much of the legal system as has become intertwined with marriage over the millenia. (That is the subject of a much longer post in the future.)
• In future MSM/DNC references to this scandal, the word "Idaho" and the name "Larry Craig" will be scarce. The MSM/DNC will begin referring vaguely to a Republican Senator and the Minneapolis airport. The words "Republican Senator" and "Minneapolis airport" will be much more common than "Idaho" or "Larry Craig." The MSM/DNC hopes that marginal voters in Minnesota will mistakenly associate this scandal with Republican Norm Coleman, who faces a reelection battle for U.S. Senator from Minnesota in 2008 (and whose record is thus far spotless).
• One day last week, I heard Sean Hannity speculate on the nature of these bathroom homosexual encounters that led to the sting operation that ensnared Senator Craig. Hannity wondered if these encounters are common and if, in fact, there is an entire subculture centered on restroom gay sex. Whoever the undercover police are waiting for when they sit on toilets all day anticipating homosexual solicitation are the same people who decide what our families see on television.

Ellen Degeneres; ten year anniversary

I missed an interesting anniversary earlier this week. April 30th was the ten year anniversary of the over-hyped Ellen Degeneres coming-out episode, where she used her then failing ABC sitcom to announce her lesbianism to the world.

That particular event had been hyped during the entire 1996-1997 television season. As I recall, the radio ads and the TV promos for each episode hinted that this week might be THE week where Ellen might finally end the suspense and reveal whether she is a lesbian or not. By the time April rolled around, the suspense was over. The actual announcement in Time magazine and the special one hour, two part episode became an anti-climax. [I don't remember whether the ratings for that particular episode were good, although I suspect that they were.] In light of the past decade, the whole over-hyped event seems quaint now.








That particular sitcom had begun three years earlier on ABC with some success, but the ratings had gradually declined until this "controversy" temporarily spiked viewership. By the following season, the novelty had worn off, the ratings were worse than ever and the show was cancelled in the spring of 1998.

In 1998, Ellen herself commented that someday we would all wonder what had been the big deal in the first place. She made this commentary as part of a special episode where she and her cast portrayed or reenacted controversial moments from television history during previous decades. This comment has proven to be accurate, but only because the networks have beaten us to death with homosexuality since the mid-to-late 1990s.

I recall the April 12, 1997 episode of Saturday Night Live, in which Sheri Oteri played a lesbian character on "Weekend Update." This skit was SNL's contribution to the Ellen hype. The point of the skit was to ridicule NBC preemptively by accusing NBC of pandering to the lesbian angle. Oteri's character, Mickey the Dyke, used the skit to announce that NBC would copy ABC by featuring lesbians in every program, including sports, news, sitcoms, drama, etc. I am going purely from memory here, but I clearly recall Oteri gleefully announcing, "Lesbian! Lesbian! Lesbian!"

This skit was clearly intended as a joke and an insult to NBC, but it turned out to be even more prophetic than Ellen's prediction. Network programming would soon become an almost exclusive bastion of homosexuality.

• At the beginning of that same season (1996-1997), ABC's "Spin City" had debuted with a regular gay character.
• Also during that season, ABC's "Roseanne" converted one of its regular characters into a lesbian for the show's final season.
• In the fall of 1997, NBC debuted "Veronica's Closet", which featured a character that was constantly ridiculed for denying his own homosexuality.
• By fall 1998, NBC would premiere "Will and Grace."
• In the fall of 1998, a minor homosexual character would return to ABC's "NYPD Blue" and assume a much more prominent role.
• HBO's "Sex and the City" debuted in 1998, featuring numerous gay characters over the next six years and one major co-star that veered into lesbianism for a brief period.
• Around 2000 [I don't remember exactly when], a major character on NBC's "ER" would turn into a lesbian.
• In 2000, Showtime debuted "Queer as Folk," which lasted about five seasons.
• In 2000, CBS debuted "Survivor," in which a gay naked fat man played a prominent role. Future reality shows would also feature homosexuals in prominent roles.
• In 2001, HBO debuted "Six Feet Under," featuring a gay lead character.
• In the early part of this decade, a character on ABC's "Once and Again" appeared to be headed in the lesbian direction at the time the show was cancelled.
• Also during this decade, new characters on "NYPD Blue" and NBC's "Law and Order" would announce their homosexuality in plot twists that went nowhere, shortly before those characters would disappear.
• NBC's "Bravo" network debuted "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" in 2003.
• In 2003, Reno 911 debuted on Comedy Central, featuring a flamboyantly gay police lieutenant.
• Around 2004-2005, the Canadian series "Degrassi" began depicting homosexual affairs between and among high school students (some of which featured actors that were barely of legal age for the scenes in which they played).
• Numerous episodes of CW's "Veronica Mars" feature persecuted gay guest characters.
• I recall a few failed series during this time that featured gay main characters, but they survived too briefly for me to remember their names. They were cheap imitations of Will and Grace and did not earn decent ratings.
• In 2005, CBS debuted "Numb3rs", featuring a gay main character.
• The current CBS show "The Class" features at least one regular gay character.
• The current ABC series "Brothers and Sisters" features a gay main character and repeated exposure to his romantic life.

There are probably more examples that I have forgotten or never knew about. When I became aware of each of the above examples, I heard Cheri Oteri's voice in the back of my head exclaiming, "Lesbian! Lesbian! Lesbian!" [Reality is rapidly becoming indistinguishable from parody.]

These programs consume many hours of prime time programming, most of them on network television. I have not included movies or the self-outing of numerous celebrities over the past ten years. The cumulative effect of these Hollywood products has been gradually to ratchet up the homosexuality factor in our mass media. We have reached the point where it has become almost a prerequisite for a television show to include a homosexual character if it hopes to gain a slot in the primetime lineup.

The homosexual revolution is now so old that many of the homosexual shows from the 1990's or early part of this decade are now syndicated on weekends or late at night. It is entirely possible that not a day goes by without a homosexual television program being aired somewhere on American television. But it is rare that network television programs show people in church. Do homosexuals, in fact, outnumber churchgoers? The MSM/DNC would have us believe so.

Is Ellen Degeneres responsible for the homosexual revolution in television? Despite the timing of her self-outing and the above programs, I believe the answer is no. The revolution was coming anyway. Ellen Degeneres simply jumped in front like the rooster announcing the sunrise. She milked her own outing for a year to shore up ratings for a failing show. The MSM/DNC was happy to accomodate her by fueling the publicity and speculation. That very publicity throughout 1996-1997 then paved the way for the deluge which has rained homosexuality upon the rest of us for the past ten years.

This part is educated speculation, but I cannot believe that the homosexual revolution in television happened because of one program. Other programs, like "Friends" and "Melrose Place", had dabbled in homosexuality in the early to mid-1990's. I believe that twenty five years after the "Rural purge" and other such milestones, television was ready for yet another of its many mini-revolutions. In this case, homosexuals had been gravitating to Hollywood for generations. They had toiled away on shows that they hated. They worked in silence. They wrote and produced shows about puppies, children, families and other non-gay subjects. They suffered in silence. But at a certain point, they had risen in the industry and amassed enough people and power that they could impose their own agenda.

The ten year gay parade that has graced our television sets did not result from gray haired TV executives suddenly becoming "tolerant" of the poor oppressed homosexuals. It has resulted, instead, from the homosexuals gradually seizing positions of authority in Hollywood to the point where all other points of view are suppressed. We are living under a virtual mass media homosexual dictatorship. In other words, we didn't give them network television. They took it.

If we want network television to reflect the fact that people, in fact, attend church in this country, we must do what the homosexuals have done. We must travel to Hollywood. We must work on programs we hate. We must bide our time. We must never forget that Hollywood hates us, America and everything Christian. We must develop our own persecution complex similar to that of the homosexuals. [Although in our case we have good reason for such a complex.] We must long for the day when we can present a Christian program that does not ridicule the faithful.

But no one has questioned the underlying reference. No one has raised concerns over a major television star that has been required to undergo rehab because he used the word "faggot":

According to an insider, Isaiah, who issued an apology for his statements on Jan. 18, agreed to undergo a psychological assessment after talks with ABC executives.

No one seems concerned that we are treating opinions as a mental illness in a fashion reminiscent of the Soviet Union. This is not an isolated incident. In February 2000, Joe Sobran wrote the following:

Meanwhile, Al Gore has announced that if elected
president, he will make favoring homosexuals in the military a "litmus test" for his appointees to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Nobody is demanding that Gore be subjected to psychological examination.

A Maryland judge, Durke Thompson, has given a 24-year-old
man a sentence of 18 months for the statutory rape of an 11-year-old girl whose mother found him hiding in the girl's
closet at 2:30 AM with his trousers around his ankles.
Thompson explained the light sentence with the adage that "it takes two to tango." Yes, some of these pre-teens are just begging for it. However, nobody is demanding that Thompson be required to undergo psychological examination. Liberalism is not yet recognized as a form of mental illness.

It is not secret, except among those who learned history from the MSM/DNC, that the Soviet Union used the "mental illness" card as a weapon against enemies of the state. The mental illness label often served as a prelude to brainwashing.

As long as those who hold unpopular opinions are at risk for compulsory psychological treatment, the rest of us should stand in solidarity with them, even to the point of using their terms. We cannot fear words, or else the establishment will criminalize more words. The point of the PC enforcement is not really to protect the actual "faggots", but to create more thought crimes so that ordinary citizens can be kept in line. The inevitable result is that even members of the MSM/DNC are not immune to thought crime enforcement:

I believe that Washington was not actually placed into rehab by the government, but he had no choice if he was to keep his job. The old alleged military-industrial complex has been replaced by the government/media/entertainment complex, with the entertainment/media wing exercising broad powers to enforce the PC taboos. You can work in Hollywood or otherwise become a public figure, but if you violate the PC code, you will either give up the good life or receive psychological treatment.

The "mental illness" card is not new in the West, as it was used against those who blew the whistle on the Billy Sol Estes grain elevator scandal in the 1960's and has been used in other contexts. J. The bottom line is that I believe we all have a duty to use the taboo words until the PC police agree to leave us alone and abandon the psychiatry card. Much like Ann Coulter's use of "raghead" last year, our freedom may depend on our ability to say "faggot".

It is a virtual guarantee that (with the possible exception of left-leaning Republicans of the future) no Republican will ever say the kind of things about Mark Foley that are found here - no matter how much time passes before he is deceased. Let's say you are contemplating a career in politics. Let's say also that you have not decided which political party would best serve your future political aspirations.

Suppose, finally, that you are also a sex pervert - that you either have a desire for underage boys or that you don't mind having male prostitution rings operated out of your apartment by your gay male "partner" or that you have a tendency to force your attentions on female subordinates [or one of a hundred other fetish/tendencies/"preferences"/perversions].

There are undoubtedly at least a few people in the US facing such a situation. They are about to begin a political career but are nagged by fears that their sexual proclivities/activities may become exposed/reported at some time in the future. If you are one of these people, you have a very important question to answer before you begin your first campaign.

Which political party should you join?

Which political party would best serve a politician that engages in or facilitates hidden, illegal sexual activities? As the events surrounding Congressman Mark Foley make clear, the choice is obvious. You do not want to be a Republican if you are caught in some bizzare sex scandal.

Look at the evidence over the past 20 years. If you are a Democrat, you can count on your political allies to:

- lie for you
- deny, deny, deny
- rely on the thinnest of legal excuses
- hire detectives and thugs to smear and intimidate your accusers
- support you to the end notwithstanding the evidence against you

The worst you can expect from your allies is a cursory expression of moral qualms, which expression will not be backed up by any meaningful action.

You will be allowed to remain in Congress for years afterward and express faux moral outrage over every reference to your particular "preference." Your improprieties will be ignored by the MSM/DNC while the same MSM/DNC will give unlimited airplay to your bile on any issue.

You will be offered a guest appearance on Oprah and a lucrative book deal. You may even qualify as a new breed of hyphenated-American.

On the other hand, if you launch your political career as a Republican, you will have no protection. If you are ever exposed for the disgusting pervert that you are, the GOP will abandon you and join the calls for your head.

The same Democrats that would have defended you if you had only joined their party will now attack you unmercifully. [They will attack you not for your perversion or your actual crime - but only for "hypocrisy" - this being a case of "love the sin, hate the sinner."]

Rest assured also that MSM/DNC operatives are seeking to out most Republicans as perverts/hypocrites on a constant basis. [Don't think they haven't investigated every teenage boy that has ever met George W. Bush in a vain attempt to contrive some dirt.]

The choice is thus clear. If you have something to hide, join the Democratic party. You are in for a very successful career.
