MSM - Lie # 18 - CBS and Terri Schiavo.

I have updated the list of MSM lies of 2005.

Michelle Malkin and Glenn Beck carry the story of CBS' premature obituary of Terri Schiavo in advance of the actual completion of the murder.

I initially hesitated before including this one on the list of lies becaused the publication was a mistake and merely premature. BUT, CBS has obviously made up its mind about a key disputed point that retains relevance as Terri's family tries to prevent the murder before the 11th Circuit today.

While it was a mistake, rather than a lie, to print the obituary before Terri's murder is complete, the lie occurs because CBS includes a reference to Michael remaining at her bedside at the time of death. CBS has no idea whether that will happen or not. Michael's faithfulness to his wife (and fitness to decide whether she lives or dies) continues to be at issue in the ongoing proceedings. CBS has obviously made up its mind and doesn't mind fudging an obituary to help Michael maintain the fiction of being Terri's husband right up until the end.
